Assessment of the Impact of the Circular Economy on CO2 Emissions in Europe

The circular economy is entirely in line with the European Commission’s long-term strategy aimed at moving toward an without any climate impact by 2050 (European Commission, 2018). Yet, to our knowledge, there little work that analyzes of on CO2 emissions Europe. objective this study analyze, level Union (EU-15), using Autoregressive-Distributed Lag model (ARDL). results over period 2000-2015 show that, long term, practices tend reduce emissions, while short effect opposite. short-term also question modalities economic growth and need find a consensus between “efficiency sufficiency” order limit resource consumption emissions.JEL Codes: Q53, C23
